Description
These Nights in Cairo is a romantic adventure visual novel set in a fantastical version of early-twentieth-century Egypt. Players assume the role of Margaret Dawson, the daughter of the famous archaeologist Richard Dawson (presumably not that Richard Dawson), who has finally convinced her father to let her join him on an expedition. Along the way, Margaret will encounter plenty of danger and evil magic -- and she may also find romance with one of three potential suitors.
The game plays as a completely standard visual novel; play time is spent mostly reading text and looking at artwork. Interaction is limited to making choices when prompted, with no action elements whatsoever. There are rather frequent choices to be made, and they lead to any of a number of different endings, both good and bad. It is possible for Margaret not to survive some of her choices, so regular saving is a lovely idea.
This is not an "adult" game -- though there is some nudity and sexual dialogue, there is nothing that rises to the level of porn here. It is, however, a romance-centric game, though it does have "neutral" paths that do not involve any romance and focus purely on the adventure.
