Description
After Earth has become inhabitable in 3023, the last transports leave Earth towards a better future. The player's job is to protect those transports from asteroids and alien attackers which warp in from a fixed point and move towards the transports. This is accomplished by shooting them with the space ship's integrated weapon systems. Important factors to look out for are ammo, shields (a life is lost when it reaches zero) and available boost (used for acceleration). Torino-X can be played in either first-person or third-person.
The commander mode can be activated at any time. Here the player can buy and place turrets which automatically help to defend the transports. Also available for purchase are more ammo, shields and additional lives. Money is earned by shooting enemies. When all of them are disposed of, the next of overall 15 levels starts.
