Translation Daze
Description
Translation Daze is a educational game exploring difficulties around translating the Bible into the Diimdi language (not a real language). It is divided into seven activities. Each activity is followed by a real-life story from the Wycliffe team.
- Language Learning: click on various items to learn the Diimdi word. You are then tested on your knowledge by choosing the correct word for various items.
- Key Terms With Pastor Didu: Pastor Didu is helping you translate the word "peace" in John 14:27. Explore the various words that could be used.
- At the Market: You need to buy some items at the market. Pick the correct prices to haggle.
- Dinner with Mama Botana: You have been invited to dinner. Try to not make a fool of yourself.
- Translation Teamwork: A team has been assembled to translate the Bible into several related languages. Pick the correct choices to turn your team into a well-oiled translation machine.
- A Computer "Bug": Your computer stopped working. Click on the correct items to figure out why.
- Dedication Day: The New Testament has been translated into the Diimdi language. It's time to celebrate.
