Ultimate Educational And Fun Kids CD!!: Hundreds of titles on 1 CD is a UK home made compilation of shareware, freeware and demo games and Windows desktop files that was sold in the UK probably at car boot sales and on-line though this cannot be verified. The CD cost £3 and came in a plastic wallet with a wraparound paper cover.

The CD contains two folders The Content Folder and The Extras Folder and has no top-level menu to guide the user.

• The Content Folder. This is where the games are, they are grouped by category, each game is in a separate folder which contains all the files needed to install it and a 'Readme.txt' file. All the games are either freeware or demo versions and are generally WIN 3.x or WIN 95 games, there are no DOS games. The categories are;

  • Art and Craft: Twenty four programs most of which are about drawing or colouring in, among them are Sean's Magic Slate and Wonkarific Colorizer
  • Blue's Clues: Blue's Clues is a US television series for preschool children. The thirty-one games here come from Seasons One, Two and Three.
  • For Parents and Teachers: Thirteen programs ranging from a crosswords game - CrosswordPlus; a word-search generator Word Search Factory to kid-safe browsers and teacher aids
  • For The Very Young: These are games that are suitable if you must let the very young play on your computer, they include Banger V1.0 which makes noises whenever a key is pressed and the BiggieBoy Garage Door Simulator.
  • Just For Fun: Twenty two game folders containing such goodies as The Absolutely Useless Noise Making Program which, as it says just makes funny noises; Crying Screaming Baby - give it toys, give it milk and it will be quiet ... just not for very long; Roadskunk from Nickelodeon in which you hunt the skunk; Virtual Dragon in which the player raises a dragon from an egg.
  • Letters and Words: Twelve word based games including Acorn Arcade - a word/picture recognition game, the Secret Squirrel Decoder which encrypts and decrypts messages, the Superman Activity Center: Hidden Profiles word search game
  • Memory: Seven games including Bongo-Mania - A promotion for Disney's George of the Jungle; Lucky Charms Memory Machine; and Nicktoons Memory Challenge
  • Numbers: Seven maths programs, six of which are games while the seventh is a calculator that works out how much you'd weigh on any planet in the system. Among the games in this section are Penny Penguin's Math Bingo and Counting On Frank: Magic Numbers Game

• Other Games: A further twenty eight games including freeware games featuring well known cartoon characters such as

  • Animorphs - The Yeerk Pool
  • Casper the Friendly Ghost - Casper's Treasure Hunt
  • Tinkerbell - "Fly Tink, Fly
  • and others as well as games such as Splatberry Pie and Pop a Penguin

• The Extras Folder contains a menu that opens in a browser window, the four sections of the menu are:

  • Email Stationary: One hundred and eleven ways to tweak e-mail messages, all in .eml format with subjects ranging from angels singing to Wallace and Gromit
  • Backdrops: Over one hundred wallpaper pictures all in .jpg format
  • Desktop Themes: There are three links on this page;
    • The first link opens a browser window showing the Themes folder on the CD, all of which are child oriented. The user has to select and copy this folder.
    • The second link opens the Program Files folder on the user's computer, this is where the user pastes the Themes folder
    • The third link installs Desktop Architect - free software used to install the desktop themes.* Printables: This link opens an index of the CD's folder in a browser window from which the user can choose from over three hundred .gif files to print, the subjects range from Barbie and Bambi to witches and Yosemite Sam.
