Valley of Unicorns

Valley of Unicorns is an adoptable pets game based around collecting and raising a variety of mythical horses, in hundreds of different colors and poses. Despite the name, unicorns are not the only pets featured; the game contains an array of horse species including the winged pegasus, the aquatic hippocampus, and the insect-like spring fairy. Most horses can be taken from an adoption area or bred from the user's existing horses, but other, special horses can be purchased from in-game shops or earned during holiday events. Clicking a horse causes it to gain a level, and an immature foal will reach adulthood at level 150.

The game's main currency is silver, which can be earned through clicking other people's foals, selling items and horses, and participating in site events. In turn, silver can be used to purchase items and horses from both users and in-game shops. Items can include food to help horses grow faster, trinkets to be given to horses for aesthetic purposes, and apparel to alter a horse's appearance. An alternate currency, gold, can be purchased with real money or traded from other players, and allows the player to purchase special horses from one of the shops.

Though much of the horse art is done by professional artists affiliated with the site, players may also get their own designs into the game by coloring pre-shaded lineart that the site provides. They can then submit their designs for the site staff to look over, and if the design is approved, they will be charged a silver fee and their design will later be released for all players to adopt.

Players may communicate with one another through both forums and a live chat, the latter of which is only active when a moderator is online to watch it.
