Valvo

Valvo is a freeware, mouse controlled, turn based strategy game played on a 8 x 7 grid divided into columns, it can be played as a player v player game or as a player v computer game.

The players start in opposite corners at the top of the game area and the object is to reach the opponents home area before they reach yours. Each cell on the grid is coloured. As players move up/down the columns of the game board the colour of the cell they land on opens valves (hence the game's name) between the columns which permit their opponent to take shortcuts between the columns and thus progress towards their goal faster.

The player to reach the opponent's home cell scores one hundred points plus a bonus which increases the further their opponent was from their goal. To win a match a player must score two thousand points.
