Wa-Tor

Game cover: Wa-Tor

Description

Wa-Tor is a shareware population simulation game.

The game is based on an article in A. K. Dewdney's 'Computer Recreations' column in the December 1984 issue of Scientific American entitled Sharks and fish wage an ecological war on the toroidal planet Wa-Tor. The game starts with a population of fish and sharks. The player can adjust the age at which each species breeds and reproduce and how long a shark can go without feeding before it will starve. These factors determine how fast each population grows and is eaten. The object of the game is to tinker with these parameters and find a stable population dynamic.

The game is played using the mouse and there are usually two windows present, the main window and one of the graphs which monitor population, age profile and predator/prey ratios
