Warp Force One

Warp Force One is a computer-moderated 4X play-by-mail game. Up to 16 players join a game in which 50–60 star systems with 2 to 4 planets each that can be conquered. Each player starts with control of a single planet. Initially the player has no knowledge of the rest of the universe and must explore using "warp windows". Players can build cargo ships, combat ships from raw materials gathered on the planets. To be able to use warp windows the player must build warp engines for them. There are four different types of planets, and also four different races to be played. Each player has a government form, and each form of government has a different objective required for winning the game. Once players meet they can cooperate or engage in war. Turn times take about two weeks.
