Wheel World

Wheel World is an open-world cycling game where players explore rural and urban areas on a customizable bicycle. Players take on the role of a silent protagonist called Kat, guided by Skully, a ghostly companion, on a quest to retrieve stolen magical bike parts. The tone mixes light fantasy elements with lighthearted humor, set in a cel-shaded world with a mellow synth soundtrack.

Gameplay focuses on accessible racing mechanics and light open-world exploration. Races take place across varied terrain including vineyards, forests, and city streets, with mechanics such as slipstreaming, boost charging, and off-trail shortcuts. Crashes result in quick resets, and while there is no trick system, players can perform small hops and dodges to build boost or avoid hazards. Players earn "rep" by completing races and side activities, which is required to challenge boss-level rivals. Bike parts can be collected or won and used to upgrade stats like Power, Aero, Grip, and Handling.

The game features minimal friction and a relatively low difficulty curve, designed around ease of movement and frequent race opportunities. The open world is populated with NPCs who provide side quests and optional challenges. Players can unlock fast travel points, locate Bell Shrines for boost upgrades and interact with environmental elements to reveal objectives on the map. There are also hidden jumps to discover, a coupon system to buy bike parts at stores, Lost Boys to locate, and Lone Wolf cyclists to challenge to short races.
