William the Conqueror
Description
William the Conqueror is a historical strategy wargame set in medieval France for the TRS-80 and BBC Micro.
Played on a map of northern France starting in the tear 1047, the player's goal is conquer enough of France to raise an army large enough to invade England.
Northern France is divided into a series of provinces, each with their own ruler, castles, and number of troops. Each turn the player receives income from their provinces, and these can be used to raise more troops, pay for alliances with other rulers, or buy ships for the invasion of England. Troops can be raised in provinces owned by the player, and moved into surrounding areas to invade or protect.
