You Say We Pay

You Say we Pay is a DVD trivia game hosted by television presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan. It is based on the phone-in segment from the duo's Channel 4 chat show Richard & Judy. This DVD game adaption expands on the existing gameplay of You Say we Pay with additional game types and variants.

The game does not come with any written instructions; instead, the instructions appear on an in-game menu that triggers an explanation from the game's hosts depending on what is selected.

There are three game modes;

• On Your Own: This game mode is for two to four players with each player competing for themselves
• Two's Company: This game mode is for two to four teams of two players
• Crowded House: This too is for two to four players but in this game mode every player gets to compete for every question

The question types are:

• You Say We Pay The player whose turn it nominates one person who sits to one side so that they cannot see the screen and another who operates the DVD remote. The player then describes the scene/image/person on screen without using the key words in the title, and for every object in the scene the guesser guesses correctly the player earns one thousand "You See We Pay" pounds. This process is repeated for sixty seconds and is then repeated for each player.
• The Tables Are Turned: This is only played in the "On Your Own" game mode, here Richard and Judy do the describing and the player does the guessing.
• Acting Up: Based on Charades, this game has players mime/act the objects on screen while someone guesses what is going on.
• Best Impressions: On screen, a picture of a celebrity is displayed. The player must try and impersonate the person while their teammates try and guess who it is.
• Go Fetch: Household items identified within the game must be collected within a fixed period of time.

The DVD remote is used to indicate whether whatever is on screen has been guessed successfully and the game keeps track of the scores so there is no need for a pencil or paper.
