Catch Phrase: The DVD Game

Description
Catch Phrase is an interactive DVD game that is based on a UK TV game show, This version of the game is played either as a single player game or by two teams. In all rounds, whether playing the single player or a team game (see note below).
For all questions the DVD shows a catch phrase and it is up to the player(s) to guess and shout out the answer. The game then asks the single player "Did you get it right?" to which the answers are Yes or No, or it asks the teams "Who got it right?" To which the answers are "Red Team", "Blue Team", or "Nobody".
There are four rounds to the game;
- Round 1: In this round the teams are shown a series of six pictures representing a well known phrase or saying and must guess the phrase within the ten second time limit. Ten points are awarded for a correct answer
- Bonus Round: Same format as the first round but after each correct answer comes a bonus question worth twenty points
- Double Points Round: Here there are only four questions, the first is worth ten points, the second is worth twenty, the third is for forty points and the final question could earn eighty points
- End game: This is played by the team with the most points or by a single player if they have scored over one hundred points. The player(s) are shown a three by three grid. The player chooses squares on a grid, behind each square is a catch phrase, by correctly answering questions and thus making a path across the grid. If the player completes the central row successfully they win a virtual holiday. Making any mistake voids the entire row and the player starts again on another row. Completing any of the other two rows unlocks a blooper scene from a televised show
The game is presented by Roy Walker who hosted the TV show from 1986 to 1999 and boasts a bank of over one thousand questions
Note: The back of the keep case states that the game can be played as a single player game or by up to four teams. This is incorrect, the options are a single player game or a game for two teams.
