About

Embark Studios AB is a Swedish video game developer based in Stockholm, Sweden. The studio was founded in November 2018 by industry veterans Magnus Nordin, Rob Runesson, Stefan Strandberg, Patrick Söderlund, Jenny Huldschiner, and Johan Andersson. Former DICE president and EA Worldwide Studios executive Patrick Söderlund serves as the company's CEO.

By early 2019, the studio had grown to around 50 employees, with a focus on creating large-scale, multiplayer experiences powered by proprietary technology. Also in 2019, Embark Studios became a subsidiary of the South Korean publisher Nexon, which acquired a 72.8% ownership stake and 33% of the voting rights.

Embark's debut title, The Finals, launched in 2023. The game is a fast-paced, team-based first-person shooter centered around dynamic destruction, player-driven tactics, and a competitive game-show theme.

The studio's second major project, ARC Raiders, is a third-person extraction shooter set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world. Initially announced in 2021, it was released in October 2025.
