The Finals

Description
The Finals is a free-to-play first-person set in a fictional virtual combat game show where teams of contestants compete for fame, victory, and in-game rewards. Gameplay focuses on fast-paced, team-based matches that combine shooting, environmental destruction, and player creativity. A key feature is its highly destructible environments, allowing players to damage or completely collapse buildings, bridges, and other structures. Players can interact with the world by throwing objects, creating barriers, or setting traps. This level of interactivity is intended to give each match a sense of unpredictability and strategy.
Matches feature up to four teams, with each player choosing from three distinct character types, called "builds". These builds are categorized as Light, Medium, or Heavy, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and specialized equipment. Light builds focus on speed and stealth, using tools like cloaking devices and grappling hooks. Medium builds offer a balance of health and mobility, along with support equipment such as healing devices and automated turrets. Heavy builds are slower but have more health and access to destructive tools like sledgehammers, explosives, and protective shields.
The game emphasizes creative problem-solving and teamwork. Players can use the environment to their advantage by destroying walls to open new paths, collapsing buildings to block objectives, or using "goo" to create temporary structures for defense. Environmental hazards such as fire, gas clouds, or electrical glitches can also appear during matches, adding variety to the gameplay.
When players are eliminated, they turn into golden statues that can be revived by teammates. The revive system allows Medium builds to use a defibrillator for faster, hands-free revives, while other builds require a longer manual revival process. In some modes, players have unlimited respawns, while in competitive modes, respawns are limited, making teamwork and careful play more important.
The game includes different game modes, with the most popular being "Cashout," where teams fight to control and deposit in-game currency at designated stations. The game also features ranked tournaments, quickplay modes, and rotating limited-time events with special rules.
