Battlefield: REDSEC

Description
Battlefield: REDSEC is a free-to-play battle royale game set within the Battlefield 6 ecosystem as a free update for the base game, but also available for free through a standalone launcher. It combines large-scale destruction, class-based combat, and shared progression with the base game. Designed for up to 100 players, it emphasizes team-based skirmishes across expansive, destructible environments while introducing new survival and extraction-style systems.
Matches take place on Fort Lyndon, a massive coastal map described as part Southern California community and part military installation. The terrain supports Battlefield's signature "tactical destruction", allowing players to breach walls, collapse structures, and alter cover dynamically. Some buildings can be leveled entirely, recalling the large-scale environmental transformations of earlier Battlefield titles.
Gameplay centers on surviving within a shrinking "ring of fire" that closes around combat zones. Players scavenge weapons, vehicles, and equipment while fending off rival squads. Vehicles serve as mobile power weapons and play a major role in mobility and area control. In addition to the main 100-player mode, Gauntlet offers a 32-player squad experience with faster pacing and fewer participants.
Players choose from four familiar classes (Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon) each defined by unique gadgets and passive abilities tailored for the battle royale format. Class restrictions on weapons are removed, allowing for flexible loadouts while retaining tactical distinctions through abilities and perks. Progression is shared between Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, including experience points and battle pass rewards, though each maintains its own challenges and unlockable items.
