Chemiplant

Description
Chemiplant is a strategy game for the BBC Micro.
The player takes on the role of manager of an astod plant, tasked with maintenance and repair of the plant, and meeting the needs of customers for astod. The goal is to retire after making a million dollars. The player purifies their astod by eliminating liquor. The player must also reduce and eliminate the waste product muckle, which can damage the plant.
Liquor is delivered to the plant by road tanker into the store tank. There, it is pumped into the reactor, where it is converted to astod and muckle with unprocessed liquor. Customers will only buy astod of certain purity. This mixture is then pumped to the still to be purified, and the astod is pumped to the stock tank, and the muckle is filtered off. Remaining product gets sent back to the store tank. If any tank overflows it backs up into the previous tank, or even onto the floor.
To control this process, the player modifies reactor volume and temperature as well as still bottom temperature and top flow. The player can also fill astod tanks, empty liquor tanks, or shut the whole plant down for the day if there is risk of major malfunction. If any of these processes become out of balance then alarms will be sent to the player. Alarms can indicate pump failure, overflowing tanks, high temperatures, or rubbish being made.
At the end of each day, the player has two minutes to process management options, including: cleaning equipment and changing processes, mending equipment, making some equipment bigger, checking market forecasts, financial reviews, or consultancy to help with other major issues.
