Description
Cities XL 2012 is a single-player city-building simulation game in the Cities XL franchise. The game invites players to act as virtual mayors, designing and managing interconnected cities across diverse terrains. It offers nearly 1,000 individual buildings and over 60 customizable maps, and it introduces modding support and the capacity to share user-generated modifications.
Gameplay follows the franchise’s traditional sandbox approach: players zone residential, commercial, and industrial areas while overseeing transportation, utilities, and public services. Cities interact through a shared global economy that encourages specialization and trade, although critics note that the expansion's new content, about 300 cosmetic building variations and around 15 additional maps - is modest.
