Description
Conquering Fractions (+, -) is an educational game for the Apple II designed to teach the addition and subtraction of fractions.
Contains several educational activities:* Addition and Subtraction - Walks the player through adding and subtraction fractions step-by-step
- Fraction Chompers - Allows the player to do either addition, subtraction, or mixed fraction addition problems. Played on a 4 x 4 board, the player must try to chomp as many fractions equal to a specific number. The player gains points for each correct chomp and loses time for an incorrect chomp. The must try to clear as many boards as possible in a limited time frame.
- Fraction Dash - A 1 - 2 player board game to practice addition and subtraction of fractions. Allows for computer opponents, and the board can be divided into sixths, eighths, tenths, or twelfths. The player is given three fractions, and must plug the fractions into an equation. The sum or difference is the number of spaces the player moves. There are bonus squares, squares that move the player ahead, and if they land on an opponent, they move backwards. The first player to reach the end of the board is the victor.
