Diablo: Immortal

Diablo: Immortal is a multiplayer online action role-playing game. The story takes place between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III. Following the destruction of the Worldstone by the archangel Tyrael, fragments of its power scatter across the world of Sanctuary. These shards corrupt the land and attract demonic forces seeking to use them to bring back the Lord of Terror. Players take on the role of adventurers drawn into this struggle, traveling across familiar and new regions to hunt the fragments, battle monsters, and prevent the resurrection of Diablo.

Gameplay follows the series’ action RPG traditions, using real-time combat and a top-down perspective. Players choose from six character classes: Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard. Each class has distinct abilities, combat styles, and skill trees. Combat emphasizes chaining abilities, dodging enemy attacks, and managing cooldowns. Progression involves earning experience, leveling up, and gradually unlocking new skills that can be customized and upgraded.

Equipment plays a central role in character growth. Weapons, armor, and magical items drop from enemies or are found in dungeons. Items can be upgraded, socketed with gems, and modified through crafting systems. Legendary items often alter abilities, encouraging experimentation with different builds. A character’s overall strength is represented by Combat Rating, which is tied to equipment quality as well as level.

The game world is structured around large explorable zones and instanced dungeons. Dungeons can be tackled solo or with groups, and many areas feature world events that draw multiple players together. Random encounters, elite enemies, and timed challenges add variety to exploration. Endgame activities include rifts, raids, and specialized progression paths for clans and warbands, which are smaller cooperative groups. PvP is available in structured modes, including Battlegrounds and the Cycle of Strife, a large-scale conflict between clans/factions that determines which group controls Sanctuary’s Immortals.
