Discounty

Description
Discounty is a single-player life simulation and shop management game. The game is set in a small town where the player inherits and operates a neighborhood discount store. Starting with only a modest inventory and limited space, the player must manage stock, attract customers, and build a reputation within the community. As days pass, the shop becomes a central hub for townsfolk, with their personal stories and needs intertwining with the daily business of running the store.
Gameplay revolves around stocking and selling goods. The player orders products, sets prices, arranges shelves, and manages resources to maximize both profits and customer satisfaction. A balance must be struck between offering affordable deals and ensuring the shop remains profitable. Customer traffic varies by time of day and season, requiring careful planning to keep essential items available while experimenting with specialty goods to expand appeal.
Progression comes through store upgrades and expansions. As profits grow, the player can add new aisles, improve facilities, and diversify product lines. With each improvement, the shop attracts more customers, ranging from ordinary townsfolk to unique characters with special requests. Meeting these demands often unlocks new opportunities, storylines, or rare items to sell.
Customer interaction is a central system. Shoppers are not anonymous figures but recurring characters with personalities, habits, and evolving needs. The player’s choices in what to stock, how to respond to requests, and whether to honor discounts or exploit shortages affect how the community views the store. Reputation systems reward generosity or penalize greed, encouraging different styles of play. The player may participate in town events, trade with visiting merchants, or take part in small tasks that provide rare goods or reputation boosts. Seasonal cycles influence both customer behavior and available stock.
