Amber Isle

Amber Isle is a simulation game set on a fictional island populated by sentient prehistoric creatures known as Paleofolk. The game combines elements of shop management, crafting, resource gathering, and social interaction.

The player takes on the role of a new resident tasked with revitalizing the island’s only shop. After a comical crash landing into the store, the player assumes ownership and begins the process of rebuilding both the shop and the island community. The core gameplay loop centers on gathering materials, crafting items, and selling goods to a diverse cast of Paleofolk customers. These characters, which include dinosaurs, Ice Age mammals, and other prehistoric species, each have unique needs, preferences, and dialogue.

Shop customization is a central feature of the game. Players can choose the shop's name, interior design, layout, and decoration, using proceeds from sales to unlock new cosmetic upgrades and functional expansions. Beyond the shop, players also contribute to the broader restoration of Amber Isle. This includes unlocking new areas, placing decorative elements, and constructing facilities to attract additional residents.

The game features 48 unique Paleofolk characters, each with individualized personalities and storylines. By fulfilling their requests and building relationships, players unlock new recipes, tools, and community structures such as cafés and gardens. Additionally, players can create and customize their own Paleofolk avatar, selecting from a variety of body types, colors, clothing, and accessories.

Progression is tied to both economic success and exploration. Players earn currency (called Amber) and “Inspiration” through sales and completed tasks. These resources are used to pay off the shop’s debt, unlock crafting licenses, expand the shop’s offerings, and gain access to new parts of the island. The game includes various item categories such as carpentry and tailoring, with branching recipe trees that allow for deeper customization and production strategies.
