Crossroads Inn

Description
Crossroads Inn is a single-player tavern management and life simulation game. The game is set in the fantasy land of Delcrys, where the player begins as a humble innkeeper in a small roadside tavern located at the intersection of trade routes. The player’s objective is to grow the establishment into a thriving business while navigating the complex politics of the surrounding kingdoms. Beyond serving food and drink, the inn becomes a gathering place for travelers, nobles, and adventurers, each with their own stories and influence on the player’s fortunes.
Gameplay focuses on running the inn’s daily operations. The player designs and expands the building, furnishing rooms, kitchens, and storage areas to meet the needs of patrons. Staff must be hired, trained, and managed to keep the business efficient. The tavern produces meals and drinks from recipes that require specific ingredients, which can be gathered from farms, purchased from merchants, or traded with caravans. Balancing supply chains, budgeting income and expenses, and managing stock levels are central tasks in maintaining stability.
Customer satisfaction plays a major role in progression. Patrons arrive with different expectations depending on their social class and background. Some require basic meals and ale, while others demand exotic cuisine, fine wines, or comfortable rooms. Meeting these needs increases reputation, attracting more diverse guests and opening new opportunities. Failure to satisfy expectations can damage the inn’s standing and discourage repeat visits.
The game includes two main modes. Sandbox mode emphasizes freeform management, allowing the player to expand the inn at their own pace. Campaign mode combines economic simulation with a branching storyline that involves political intrigue between rival factions. Choices made during the campaign affect alliances, influence, and eventual outcomes, placing the inn at the center of regional power struggles.
Dialogue choices influence both the business and the larger narrative. Conversations with nobles, guild leaders, and adventurers determine which political factions will support or oppose the innkeeper. Decisions carry long-term consequences that extend beyond immediate financial rewards, making diplomacy as important as management.
Later editions and releases added improvements such as refined interfaces, new story chapters, and additional scenarios.
