Gangsters 2: Vendetta is a single-player real-time strategy and management game set in the United States during the Prohibition era.

The story follows Joey Bane, a young man seeking revenge for his father’s murder at the hands of rival mobsters. His hometown of Temperance has fallen into chaos, its streets ruled by competing crime families who control the illegal liquor trade. As Joey learns more about the criminal network responsible, he discovers that his father’s death is part of a larger conspiracy spanning multiple cities. Determined to claim his vengeance and build an empire of his own, Joey sets out to dismantle his enemies and seize control of their operations.

Gameplay combines real-time tactical combat with criminal empire management. The player controls Joey and a crew of hired gangsters, each with unique specialties in activities such as extortion, assassination, driving, demolition, and smuggling. Missions take place on city maps where objectives range from eliminating rival bosses to sabotaging businesses and securing territory. Combat unfolds in real time, requiring careful use of cover, weapon types, and positioning to keep crew members alive.

Outside of combat, the player manages an expanding criminal organization. Businesses can be purchased, extorted, or attacked to generate income through racketeering, gambling, or bootlegging. Money is used to recruit additional gangsters, acquire weapons, bribe officials, and expand operations. Strategic planning is essential, as rival gangs and police forces react dynamically to the player’s actions.

Each campaign mission contributes to Joey’s overall quest for control, with new areas unlocking as enemies are defeated. Between missions, players allocate resources, train specialists, and prepare for the next confrontation. Success requires balancing violence with financial growth, as maintaining a steady cash flow is vital for sustaining the organization’s expansion.

Unlike the first Gangsters game, Gangsters 2 is structured around a linear, story-driven campaign rather than open-ended sandbox play. It streamlines management systems and introduces full 3D city maps with detailed environments, day-night cycles, and dynamic interactions between rival factions.
