Gondor

Description
Gondor is a 1-player role-playing game for the BBC Micro.
Long ago, there was a powerful kingdom called Gondor. One day, evil forces arrived in the form of a Dark Lord from Mordor. The four heirlooms of the kingdom—the ring, helm, sword, and shield—were scattered far and wide, and the king's daughter was taken captive. There was one brave knight, Arthur, who set out on a quest to return the four items and rescue to princess. If successful, he will receive the hand of the princess and become heir to the throne.
The player explores a 4x4 map of the world, where each section contains a large map that the player can explore. The character has five statistics: speed, vision, power, defense, and hit points. Vision determines how far a player can see on the screen. The player moves by selecting a direction and how far to move. Attacking is also by selecting a direction. Enemies appear on the map and don't move. The player can move up to them and attack them, and receives damage if too close. Chests and random items appear on the screen. A wandering wizard can grant positive or negative statistic changes. The player can cast magic spells which can also modify statistics.
After collecting all four heirlooms, the player enters the second half of the game, where the player must get a crown from the city in the Enchanted Sector, and the princess must be rescued from the castle in Mordor. These are displayed as 3D mazes that the player explores. Keys to unlock the treasure in one area can be found in the other.
