Hero of the Kingdom

Description
Hero of the Kingdom is a single-player adventure role-playing game with light simulation and hidden-object elements. The story begins when the protagonist’s farm is attacked and burned by raiders, and his father disappears in the chaos. With no home left, the young hero embarks on a journey across the kingdom, determined to survive, rebuild his life, and eventually uncover his father’s fate.
Exploration takes place across a series of hand-drawn static screens representing towns, villages, forests, rivers, caves, and wilderness. Progression is structured through quests given by local inhabitants. The player advances by clicking on hotspots to interact with characters, collect resources, or reveal hidden items. Certain areas remain inaccessible until prerequisites are met, such as completing tasks for villagers, acquiring tools, or advancing the main storyline. Hidden items are scattered throughout scenes and can be collected for quests or traded for profit.
The gameplay blends quest-solving with resource management. Players collect herbs, mushrooms, and food items, hunt animals for meat and hides, and fish in rivers to provide supplies or complete requests. Resources are stored in an inventory and are required to fulfill tasks, such as providing meals, brewing potions, or repairing buildings. Gold serves as the central currency, used to purchase items, hire help, or learn new skills.
Combat is present but simplified compared to traditional role-playing games. Encounters are resolved through resource expenditure rather than direct control: defeating bandits, wolves, or other threats requires weapons, supplies, or allies. To prepare, players must obtain better equipment, recruit mercenaries, or stock up on provisions. Success in combat and exploration unlocks new regions of the map and brings the hero closer to his ultimate goal.
