Hopeless Masquerade

Hopeless Masquerade is 2D one-on-one fighting game. It carries the subtitle Touhou 13.5 and it is the fourth fighting game in Tōhō series. The game is set somewhere between Ten Desires and Double Dealing Character when major religions are looking to expand their influence in the Gensokyo's Human Village. The game consists entirely of aerial combat with no ground combat. The characters constantly fly and can do normal attacks (melee and specials) and they also use various forms of magic based on spell cards and skills. The latter two along with items are tied to button combination and the mapping direction can alter the attack. Skills, spell and items add points to one of the three faiths included in the game: Shinto, Taoism or Buddhism, enhancing shooting speed, shooting range and close combat respectively. Next to health there is a popularity meter based on the performance. The game has eleven characters from the previous games, and Reimu and Marisa return.
