Hordes

Hordes is a 2–3 player strategy game of world conquest for the TI-99/4a.

Similar to the board game Risk, the player attempts to conquer the world by taking over countries. Each turn is divided into an attack phase, movement phase, and a create new armies phase.

During the attack phase, the player selects which country they will attack from, which country they will attack, and how many turns they wish to attack. During the movement phase, troops can be moved between individual countries. The player can also create ships, which can be used to load troops from countries, and directly attack enemy nations. During the create new armies phase, the player receives two units for every owned country, and bonus troops if all adjacent countries are owned.
