Imogen

Imogen is a 1-player arcade game with puzzle elements for the BBC Micro.

When the townspeople of Egmain were besieged by a monstrous fire-breathing dragon, they called for the assistance of Imogen, a local wizard with powers of metamorphosis. Responding to this threat, he transformed himself into a more powerful dragon, and quickly slayed the enemy.

Unfortunately, this strain caused his mind to snap when he returned to human form, using his power to burn the townspeople's homes and crops. The Great Wizard thus designed a prison filled with 16 pieces of a magic spell designed to allow Imogen to release himself once his sanity had returned. Imogen was secured, and now his quest for freedom has begun.

Imogen has the ability to turn himself into a monkey, a cat, or return to his human form. As a wizard, Imogen can walk left and right, and jump a short distance, and pick up, use, and manipulate items. As a monkey, Imogen can jump on the spot and climb ropes. As a cat, Imogen can jump a greater distance than the monkey or human form.

Games can be saved in progress, and a password feature allows the player to move to certain parts of the dungeon. Certain objects can be picked up and used at different locations if they are positioned in the wizard's hands.
