Intergalactic Trader

Game cover: Intergalactic Trader

Description

Intergalactic Trader is an 1–9 player menu-based real-time managerial game.

Each player starts with a single asteroid and 20,000 Yiyons, with the first player to reach a set number of Trigons the winner.

Each asteroid produces 1 unit of rare and extremely valuable ore every turn. The player can lease up to 100 asteroids at a time to increase ore production. This ore is brought to a central collection site, and the player must then hire shuttles, freighters, or transfleets to ship the ore to the nearest spaceport. Ore can be sold to locals at the collector site for a small sum of Yiyons, but ore transported to the spaceport is worth considerably more.

The player can further purchase a star ship to transport ore to Trionica from the spaceport to sell ore for Trigons instead of Yiyons. Shipping freight and paying for upkeep on vessels creates a constant drain on resources.

As the game progresses a number of randomized disasters can strike. The lease can run out on half the player's asteroids, all units belonging to the player at the collector are lost, all units at the spaceport can be lost, sold, or increased, ships can be destroyed by Klingons, or ships can receive a free hyperspace jump.
