Hegira: Tale of a Galactic Exile

Hegira: Tale of a Galactic Exile is 1-player adventure and trading game for the Apple II.

The king has been assassinated, and his Silver Scepter taken, by your cousin while aboard his royal space yacht Trikan. You play as crown prince Lord Danx, escaping in a small shuttle before your cousin can also take your life. Selling the shuttle for 50 kilocreds, you plan on taking up the role of a stellar trader, to make money, raise mercenary forces, and ultimately once again locate your home planet of Trika and reclaim the Silver Scepter.

The player can explore an interstellar map, where each location has different commodities available for buying and selling. The player must travel between planets, buying high, and selling low to make a profit. As the player continues to explore, they can upgrade their space vessel to larger ships, as well as outfit it with weapons and superior engines and shields. Crew members can be purchased to help pilot and optimize your vessel, as well mercenaries can be purchased. Your ship must be kept fueled, and your crew must be paid and kept fed. The player can engage with enemy vessels while out in space for combat.

The ultimate goal is to locate which of the many planets in the system is your home Trika, and amass a sufficient force to win back the throne from your cousin.
