Li'l Red

Li'l Red is a 2D platform game featuring movement-focused traversal, timing-based combat, and precision momentum techniques. The story follows Lyra, who retrieves a rare medicinal herb known as the Radiant Lily and must cross a series of regions to deliver it to the kingdom of Clerica. Levels are structured around platforming challenges and enemy encounters, culminating in boss battles that test movement mastery and attack timing.

Gameplay centers on a moveset that combines standard platforming with advanced maneuvers. Lyra can run, perform a high spin jump that damages enemies, and execute a midair dive that interacts with slopes to build speed. Momentum-based techniques allow players to perform extended jumps or chained movement sequences, enabling faster level completion and new traversal routes. Combat consists of close-range attacks that can be charged for increased range and power, and abilities that consume a resource called Muse Points. MP regenerates through successful physical attacks, encouraging an alternating rhythm of melee engagement and ranged support.

Players can summon one of multiple familiar spirits, each associated with a unique ranged attack. It is possible to switch between them to adapt to enemy patterns or environmental layouts. Levels include hidden elements and performance grading based on efficiency, damage taken, and completion time.

The presentation adopts a handheld-style visual aesthetic reminiscent of monochrome LCD systems, with multiple selectable palette variations. An accompanying chiptune soundtrack reinforces the retro style.
