Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta!

Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta! is a vertically scrolling shmup. It follows Mamoru and a few other humans who find themselves transported to the underworld and drawn into conflict with ghosts and demons. Gameplay is inspired by the Pocky & Rocky series; the player character has more freedom than in most shmups, and the camera does not force scrolling. While enemies can be defeated using traditional shooting, the "curse" mechanic adds an extra dimension. Players can fire a curse shot, which curses an enemy when struck; a cursed enemy is powered up and becomes more dangerous, but the rewards for defeating a cursed enemy are much greater. This encourages the player to control their own difficulty level by cursing enemies when possible in order to obtain a higher score.

The later home port featured new game modes and extra downloadable characters.
