Nemesis

Nemesis is a 1-player Centipede clone for the BBC Micro.

From the depths of space come Earth's deadliest adversaries, the Vogons. The player controls a small character who moves laterally at the bottom of the screen, can move upwards a short distance, firing directly forwards. The Vogons approach from the top of the screen, and will move down a line and change direction if they are shot or hit an object.

The goal each level is to destroy all the Vogons. If the player shoots an asteroid it begins to fall towards the player, but can be shot again to be destroyed. Chargers fall directly towards the player, while Crushers bounce about the bottom of the screen. Crawlers move laterally across the screen and leave warp vectors, which will move any Vogon in contact to the bottom of the screen. The player starts with three lives.
