One Small Square: Backyard

One Small Square: Backyard is an educational CD-ROM based on the children's book of the same name. The player clicks into parts of a rendered backyard (the season can be changed) which then switches into one of twelve drawn close-up views. Clicking on certain parts there opens educational videos about plants and animal life. All items can also be found through an index.

There are also four games:

• Ant Maze: The player needs to guide an ant through a maze. Part of solving it is trial & error because sometimes enemy ants pop up which kill our ant.
• Camouflaged Creatures: The player needs to find seven hidden animals in a picture.
• Food Chains: The player needs to identify the food chain of eleven animals and plants.
• Bug Shoot: The player needs to click on flying bugs so the toad can catch it with its tongue.
