Polar Perils
Description
Polar Perils is a 1-player arcade game for the BBC Micro and Electron.
The player must safely navigate an Eskimo through three dangerous screens. In the first section, the player must navigate across open water by hopping between moving ice floes. The Eskimo must grab a spear from one of the two islands, and then make their way to the ice floe with the polar bear to kill it. After that, the player must find their way to the island on the south. If the player falls into the water or encounters a polar bear without a spear they lose a life.
In the second screen, the player must carefully avoid stepping on thin ice. The spear can be picked up to kill the polar bears, and rocks can be picked up and thrown to clear a way across thin ice. The player can not carry rocks and a spear at the same time.
In the final screen, the player must navigate their kayak through iceberg infested waters to gather six ice blocks to make a new igloo. The player starts with three lives, and receives points for bonus time at the completion of each stage.
