Pontoon

Pontoon is a 1–6 player-versus-the-computer card game for the BBC Micro. The player and the computer take turns drawing cards to try to reach 21 without going over. Each turn, the player can stick to hold their current hand or twist for another card.

The players and house start with 50 monetary units, and after the first card has been drawn, the player can choose to bet 1–10 units on the first two cards. A pair on the first two cards allows the hand to be split and played as two hands. Sticking under 16 is not allowed. If four cards total less than 12, then the 5th card can only be twisted. Game play occurs until the player or house has run out of money.
