Suika

Suika is a Japanese adult romance visual novel which consists of a prologue and four chapters. Each chapter puts the player in control of a different protagonist, but all are set in the remote Japanese village of Tokiwa over a two-week period where several young people must confront their feelings for each other under the warm summer sun.

In terms of gameplay, Suika employs classic visual novel mechanics, offering players a predominantly text-based experience accompanied by character illustrations and backgrounds. The player's choices at key narrative junctures in each chapter influence the direction of the story, leading to multiple branching paths and various endings. The game features voice acting for the female characters.

The initial Windows versions and the OOParts version contain scenes with explicit sexual content. A later Windows release, as well as the console and mobile versions, omit these scenes, with various scenario/graphic adjustments in their place.

Story

The prologue follows Hiroshi Inaba, a young man who travels to Tokiwa annually to visit family and friends. Hiroshi reflects on his worries about his bedridden sister, Chitose, before bumping into two local girls: Itsuki Minase and Sayaka Shirakawa. He then hears a ringing noise and turns around to see a girl with long silver hair running away.

Chapter 1 follows Akira Kazama, a boy who has just returned to Tokiwa with his mother. Upon visiting the village shrine, Akira discovers that its miko is none other than his childhood friend Itsuki Minase. As a love triangle begins to form between them and Itsuki's sister Sayo, Akira must decide where his true feelings lie.

Chapter 2 stars Sōji Kamishiro, a boy who enjoys painting with Sayaka Shirakawa at the studio owned by Sayaka's father Ritsu. Sōji is one of the few villagers who do not judge Ritsu's work, which is often macabre and themed around death, making Sōji one of the only people who Sayaka feels comfortable with. This trust brings them closer together.

Chapter 3 is about Yoshikazu Masaki, a boy who has secretly begun to harbor feelings for his sister, Akane, as a result of her suggestive behavior towards him. Yoshikazu's girlfriend Tōko Kyōya, seemingly aware of this, begins to drive a wedge between Yoshikazu and his sister, forcing him to decide which of them he wants to be with.

Chapter 4 puts the player back in control of Hiroshi Inaba from the prologue. On the night of a local festival, Hiroshi meets the silver-haired girl who had previously run away from him and resolves to learn her identity, only to discover a shocking truth.
