Survive

Survive is a 1-player arcade game for the 8-bit Atari.

The player must survive the attack of alien creatures in a minefield. There are 12 quadrants in total, and on each level the aliens move inexorably towards the player. Aliens can be destroyed by luring them into mines or shooting them with a laser. If the player is shot by an alien, they lose 20% of their health, and it's instant game over if caught by an alien. Every quadrant has a starbase which can be docked with to restore 5% health. Each progressive level has more aliens and fewer mines.
