The Legislator: License to Bill
Description
The Legislator: License to Bill is a short political game created by the staff of The Daily Show as a commentary on how politicians often blame video games for gun violence, but won't actually attempt to pass any laws to prevent it. In the game the player is a legislator attempting to pass a gun control bill. As they pass through the hall of the United States Congress, they encounter a number of obstacles and must make choices over how to proceed: whether to accept NRA money, whether to bundle in infrastructure improvements, and finally, a showdown with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. Should the player make the right choices at every level, the bill will succeed.
The game has three difficulty levels:
- Functioning Democracy (Easy)
- Filibuster-proof Majority (Medium)
- Actual Congress (Impossible)
However, no matter what difficulty the player chooses, the gameplay is identical.
