Thunderbird GX

Thunderbird GX is a 1-player space-themed arcade game for the Apple II.

The player controls a small spacecraft which can scroll horizontally at the bottom of the screen and fire vertically forwards. The player combats a number of alien creatures whom intermittently fire and swoop at the player. There is a small creature located in the back center of the alien swarm, whom if hit, will cause the whole swarm to rush the player. The player advances to a more difficult challenge if all creatures on the screen are destroyed. The player starts with a total of 4 ships, and if they are hit, a ship is lost. Lose all ships, and it's game over.
