Ticuto is an open-ended isometric pixel art game with time travel and alternate reality mechanics. Players take on the role of an unnamed protagonist navigating Hubble Town and beyond, uncovering the mysteries of Time Crystals and their fragmented shards. The game’s central conflict revolves around Dark Tuto, an alternate version of Dr. Tuto who seeks to reshape reality. As the player explores, they encounter a variety of locations, including Wonderland, Candyland, and the Aztec Jungle, each featuring unique challenges and inhabitants. While the overarching goal is to stop Dark Tuto, the game allows for a non-linear experience, encouraging players to interact with NPCs, complete quests, and customize their private spaces.

The gameplay focuses on exploration, puzzle-solving, and resource management. Players gather materials, trade items across parallel realities using the Ticuto Machine, and restore wilted crops with Time Crystal shards. The game incorporates a dynamic dialogue system powered by Yarn Spinner, allowing players to engage with NPCs and influence their relationships over time. Missions range from assisting characters like Morgana, a reclusive witch, to uncovering hidden artifacts in the Aztec Jungle. Additionally, localized space-time jumps serve as a fast-travel mechanic, enabling movement between key locations.

Ticuto has interaction with alternate realities, where swapping items with parallel-world versions can lead to unpredictable outcomes. The game also emphasizes environmental storytelling, with remnants of past experiments scattered throughout the world. NPCs have evolving relationships with the player, responding differently based on past interactions.
