Akasen Gairo: Shōwa 33-nen no Hatsuyuki

Akasen Gairo: Shōwa 33-nen no Hatsuyuki is a Japanese adult visual novel which takes place in 1950s, post-war Japan. After World War II, there were several districts where brothels were permitted to operate in Japan, but which are now due to close in a few months after the passing of an Anti-Prostitution Law in the Diet. The player takes on the role of Masayuki Kisaragi, a young man who arrives in one of these districts while searching for his mother. He is taken in by a prostitute named Shizue Karazaki who agrees to look after him until his mother can be found.

After the common route, the game features individual routes for Shizue as well as the two other heroines: Fuuka Okonogi, a maid who befriends Masayuki, and Chihiro Kisugi, another prostitute who works in the district. The player's decisions throughout the game influence the development of the story.
