Days Gone: Remastered

Description
Days Gone: Remastered is a remastered version of the 2019 title Days Gone, originally first released for the PlayStation 4. It introduces a range of new content and technical improvements tailored for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. Chief among these additions is Horde Assault, a new survival-arcade game mode that challenges players to endure endless waves of Freakers and other enemies in an escalating fight for survival. Unlike the traditional story mode, players begin each session in Cascade with only a sidearm, and must fight their way to their Drifter bike while scavenging randomized Supply Boxes containing over 20 weapons, including the newly added flamethrower. Side Jobs, short optional objectives scattered throughout the map, provide valuable XP and resources essential for longer survival runs. The mode culminates in the "Ultimate Horde", an endless wave triggered after surviving 30 minutes in a session.
A new Injectors system adds a layer of strategic customization to gameplay. Players can unlock up to 24 Injectors divided into two categories: 12 Positive Injectors that offer score boosts at the cost of increased difficulty, and 12 Negative Injectors that penalize scoring but grant survival benefits. Notable examples include “Exploding Freakers,” which causes enemies to explode upon death, and “Wanted,” which sets the game’s difficulty escalation to maximum from the start.
Progression in Horde Assault is tracked via a 35-level Reward Path. As players advance, they unlock new Injectors, cosmetic patch rewards, and six never-before-playable characters including O’Brian, Lisa, and Skizzo. Cosmetic patches return from the original game’s 2019 challenge mode, though they now serve purely aesthetic purposes and carry over to the main story. Additional hidden rewards, such as a highly requested customization item for the player's bike, can be unlocked by beating target scores across the game’s four regions.
Alongside these new features, Days Gone: Remastered includes technical enhancements that leverage the capabilities of PS5 and PS5 Pro hardware, offering improved performance and visuals. The Enhanced Photo Mode allows for higher-quality captures of in-game content, especially useful for showcasing cosmetic unlocks.
For Windows, the base game was updated to the Remastered version by default and the new, additional content is only available separately through the separate Broken Road DLC. For owners of the PS4 version, a $10 USD upgrade path is offered.
