Esophaguys

Esophaguys is a physics-driven multiplayer platformer centered on cooperative and competitive play. Players control elderly characters with extensible necks that can be stretched, stiffened, and used to interact with the environment. The core mechanic involves using these necks to grab objects, swing across gaps, form bridges, and manipulate terrain in order to traverse levels or compete against other players.

The game supports one to four players across several modes. Cooperative modes focus on traversal and puzzle-solving, requiring players to coordinate by linking necks together or stabilizing structures for others to cross. Competitive modes include free-for-all and team-based challenges, where players use movement, positioning, and environmental objects to eliminate opponents. A single hit is typically enough to defeat a player, making precision and restraint important despite the exaggerated physics.

In addition to multiplayer modes, the game includes a narrative-focused story mode with narrated sequences, as well as a high-difficulty challenge mode designed around minimal checkpoints and speedrunning. Progression across modes contributes to hub-world advancement, where players restore monuments, unlock cosmetic items, and uncover background lore.

The game features a soundtrack built around the jew's harp, an ancient mouth-played instrument. Music and sound effects draw from multiple regional traditions and experimental styles, with all in-game sounds produced using mouth-based techniques to reinforce the game's thematic focus.
