Human: Fall Flat

Game cover: Human: Fall Flat

Description

Human: Fall Flat is a single-player and multiplayer physics-based puzzle platform game. Players take control of Bob, a customizable human figure who endlessly dreams of surreal environments suspended in the sky. The objective is to guide Bob through these dreamscapes by solving puzzles and reaching exits, with no overarching narrative but a focus on experimentation and problem-solving within each stage.

Gameplay centers on exploration, puzzle interaction, and platforming. Each level is built around physics-driven challenges, requiring players to manipulate objects such as levers, boxes, planks, and ropes to progress. Bob’s movements are deliberately clumsy, with independent control of each arm, encouraging experimentation and creating situations where even basic tasks like climbing or carrying can become puzzles. Success depends less on precision and more on creativity in using objects, momentum, and the environment to reach solutions.

Progression is structured through a series of themed levels, ranging from castles and factories to snowy mountains and industrial sites. Each level introduces new mechanics, such as electrical circuits, moving platforms, or vehicles, which expand the variety of challenges. There is no inventory system; instead, puzzles rely entirely on in-world items and player ingenuity. Multiple solutions are often possible, reinforcing the emphasis on experimentation.

Other systems include extensive customization options for Bob’s appearance, with different outfits, colors, and designs. The game also features cooperative multiplayer, both locally and online, allowing up to eight players to tackle puzzles together. Multiplayer sessions introduce additional strategies, such as stacking players to reach higher areas or coordinating to operate machinery.
