Galaxi Taxi

Galaxi Taxi is a planned side-scrolling shoot 'em up with story-driven adventure elements rendered in a hand-drawn animation art style. Players join the crew of Starclutch Services, an interstellar taxi company operating in the Juicy Way Galaxy. The crew consists of Alien, Plush Bunny, and Apple Worm, who must transport passengers safely while battling against Mushroom, the tyrannical owner of Mushroom Taxi Corporation who has established a monopolistic stranglehold over galactic transportation.

Gameplay combines vehicular combat with platforming elements as players pilot their customizable taxi through colorful planetary environments both on the ground and in flight. The taxi functions as both transportation and weapon platform, with players engaging waves of enemies and navigating environmental hazards while ferrying passengers to their destinations. Combat involves shooting mechanics integrated with the vehicle's movement, requiring players to balance offensive capabilities with passenger safety. The game features boss encounters against a variety of enemies, each demanding unique strategies to defeat.

The central progression system revolves around extensive taxi customization using coins earned from completed fares and defeated enemies. Players can install spring coils for enhanced jumping ability, jet exhausts for aerial manoeuvres, or strip away safety features like doors to reduce weight and increase speed. Modifications can transform the taxi into a heavily armored tank or create unconventional weapon configurations, such as projectiles that boomerang back after firing. The game supports cooperative play, allowing two players to tackle missions together while exploring the deliberately run-down aesthetic of the "muddy Milky Way" and encountering eccentric characters across various planets and time periods.
