Gideon's Gamble

Gideon's Gamble is a text adventure for the BBC Micro.

Many years ago, the legendary pirate Hezekiah Gideon buried a great deal of treasure on a far-off desert island. As renowned adventurer Captain Hogwash, the player is commissioned by King Nimblie III to seek out this island and find the treasure.

The player starts on the docks in England, and must explore the local shops and businesses to gather all of the items needed for their voyage. These can be stored at the local warehouse. After preparing for the journey, the player must use these items to deal with dangers at sea. After finally reaching the desert island, the player must overcome more dangers, find the treasure, and safely dig it up.

All commands are via VERB NOUN entry, and there is no save/restore feature.
