Description

Lewis and Clark Stayed Home is a 1-player educational game for the Apple II.

Merriweather Lewis has fallen ill, and will not be able to take on his journey to the west coast. Thus, American president Thomas Jefferson has tasked you with taking on this historic land journey to the west coast.

The player starts in St. Louis, and must travel by land on a grid-like map of the United States. The player must deal with a variety of geographic challenges during their route, and can chose to travel to the north or the south. Along the way, the player encounters various native tribes, which they can trade with and learn more information about their culture. During the expedition, the player must manage their supplies of food, gifts for the native tribes, guns, horses, blankets, and hides. The player must also assign tasks to each of their expedition members, including: mapping, collecting information, cook, camp guard, sergeant, pack crew, and hunting. The player has a limited time to complete their adventure. There are 3 levels of difficulty, and different levels require the player to complete different tasks during their allotted time.
