Persona 5: Tactica

Description
Persona 5: Tactica is a single-player tactical role-playing game. The story follows the Phantom Thieves of Hearts after they are transported into a strange alternate world during their normal activities. In this unfamiliar realm, tyrannical rulers enforce oppression over citizens, and the Phantom Thieves are forced into a new conflict. They encounter a revolutionary named Erina, who seeks their help in overthrowing corrupt regimes within these distorted domains. The player guides Joker and the team as they fight to free those trapped in manipulation and uncover the truth behind their sudden entrapment.
Gameplay shifts the series into a grid-based tactical format. Battles are turn-based and occur on maps filled with cover, elevation, and destructible objects. Players command a squad of Phantom Thieves, positioning them strategically, launching melee or ranged attacks, and using Persona skills to exploit enemy weaknesses. Taking advantage of weaknesses allows for “One More” actions, granting additional turns that can be chained together for tactical advantage. When enemies are surrounded or downed, team members can execute All-Out Attacks that damage multiple foes within a wide area.
Each character has a unique combat role and skillset. Joker wields multiple Personas, providing flexibility in exploiting weaknesses, while other Phantom Thieves rely on their signature abilities, such as elemental spells or ranged weapons. Customization comes through equipping sub-Personas, which expand available skills and alter character stats. Leveling up characters and Personas provides new abilities and improvements.
Between battles, players manage their squad at a central base. Here, Personas can be fused to create stronger variants with inherited skills, and skill trees can be expanded to unlock passive bonuses. Money and resources earned in combat are used to upgrade equipment, purchase items, or enhance abilities. Side quests and optional challenges offer extra rewards.
Dialogue sequences remain central to the experience. Story is conveyed through visual novel-style conversations, featuring choices that expand character relationships and reveal more about the conflict. While these choices do not drastically alter the main plot, they provide additional personality interactions and context for the Phantom Thieves’ journey.
