Space Invaders

Space Invaders is a 1–2 player arcade game for the BBC Micro.

The player controls a spaceship at the bottom of the screen that moves laterally and fires vertically. The enemy ships move as a group to the edge of the screen, move down one row, and reverse direction. Enemy ships continually return fire towards the player. As enemy ships are destroyed the remaining vessels move faster.

There are two levels of difficulty, amateur and professional. Four large barriers offer protection for the player. The player starts with three lives, and gains a new life every 1,500 points.
